You’ll be there to catch me

The hardest part of any season is the feeling of hopelessness and the anxiety that comes with not knowing how to face the unknown. The bible teaches us differently. In Psalm 23, it says

“Even though I walk
    through the darkest valley,
I will fear no evil,
    for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
    they comfort me.”

This poem was written during one of my hardest seasons, so I hope that it will bring you comfort in yours.

Barren wastelands sometimes cloud my dreams.

The blazing sun threatens to burn me alive.

That falling feeling that makes my fingers cling to the bed.

The paralysis that turns my body to stone.

What song shall I sing?

As I walk in the wasteland.

I’ll hum a hymn of a brighter tomorrow,

Of the strength in Your promise.

I’ll walk without fear or worry.

The sun is no match for the protection of your wings.

And when I fall, I know You’ll be there to catch me.
