Thousands upon thousands of people have and are dedicated to unraveling the mysteries of the Bible. Both in a Christian context and a secular context. To answer the complex question, what is the main idea of the Bible? The answer to that question is simple. The Bible is the story of God’s love for us. It is the story of Jesus coming down to save us from sin and death. Jesus is love. Without Him, we would not know what love is. February is a month where many types of love are celebrated. Romantic, friendship, and family love. The Bible tells the story of God’s everlasting, all-encompassing love. In Ephesians 3, Paul writes, “And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.”
We should definitely take time to thank God for all the loving relationships in our lives. I have seen up close the importance of good, healthy, and loving relationships. As well as the consequences of not having those. We need each other and despite that, relationships are difficult. So, yes, let us celebrate the love we have for each other, but may we never forget the sacrificial love that God has for us. The kind of love that we breathe in and out. That makes up the fabric of the world we live in. That saved us from ourselves. Praise be to the God who loves us. May we spend this month fixing our eyes on the love that changed us forever.
