When something we do not have is celebrated and talked about all around us. We can be left feeling inadequate, sad, and alone. I think that the month of February can often be like that. Not everyone has a loving and fruitful relationship to celebrate, or family and friends to stand in solidarity with them in singleness. This month can be a time of uplifting joy and intense loneliness. But as believers in Jesus we are never alone. In the book of Deuteronomy God tells his people that he will “never leave them or forsake them.” This is also true for us, as we are his people. When we are isolated and lonely, no matter the circumstances, we can always reach out. Finding friendship, trust, hope, joy, and love in Jesus. In our writing this month, we hope to acknowledge the loneliness that can trickle into our lives, and seek fulfillment in God.
