I think it is common to hear this phrase in Christian circles. “Comparison is the thief of joy.” Comparison has a way of cloaking itself in darkness. Sneaking up behind you when you become distracted. Measuring the value of what you possess against an unreliable standard of another’s possessions. And when you least expect it, it swipes the joy you had. Leaving you with only discontentment when you regain focus. This month we pray that God will guide you in keeping focus on the work he is doing in you. And that comparison will be unable to cloak itself and steal your joy.
