This poem is a small interruption to this month’s topic of revenge. My grandfather recently passed away, and I wanted to write something as I process his death and where I believe he is now with the Lord. I pray that you will find some comfort in what I have written. And may God strengthen your heart when you think of anyone that you’ve lost and hope to meet again someday.
Eternal life and eternal rest,
A drop of water in a series of steps,
With the future now and the present past,
Joy found at last in the waterfall.
The tree of life and the defeat of death,
Eyelids closed with the release of breath,
The struggle of life fading slowly away,
A future hope and a present pain,
A drop of water finally regains,
Its freedom in the waterfall.
The secret of ages the river of life,
Salvation brought near through Jesus Christ,
Future immortality with mortality past,
The saints reunited at the last trumpet blast,
A droplet returned to its true dwelling place,
In the waterfall, the Father’s embrace.
