Greetings everyone! This month we’re exploring the topic of lost. As Antoinette and I studied 2 Peter chapter 2, we prayed to the Holy Spirit to show us what the passage means. I’ve heard many sermons talk about how it’s a warning to false teachers. That those that lie and mislead won’t be spared punishment. Even angels who sinned got their punishment in hell. As we explored deeper, however, we found that there were multiple layers to this. Those that were false teachers strayed from the “straight path” and that got me thinking about being lost. People that intentionally or unintentionally stray from God’s ways and teachings are leaving the path that God has laid out for them. Similar to leaving a marked trail to explore the dense forest, they will find themselves easily lost. Distracted by greed and chasing those things that don’t matter in the long run of eternity. We pray that this month we can all explore 2 Peter 2 more in depth as well as remind one another, in love, that Jesus is the way, truth, and life.
