Fusing Colors

I often forget and need constant reminding that God’s way is better than mine. That he wants our good. And that what we think is good is not always. We lack perspective, and can only see a brief moment of eternity. This poem is one of those reminders, “That the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.” ( Prov. 1:7)

The colors are all fusing together.
What was separate is no longer distinct,
And the decisions I made,
The paths I traced through color,
Yellow to joy,
Blue to peace,
Green to life,
Are now unfamiliar.
Because what I am seeing,
Is a destiny that was beyond my perception,
Paths connecting at various points,
And colors that fade into black,
Into darkness.
Except for one.
A path traced by a hand superior to mine,
That I did not choose,
Where red somehow turns to white,
And goodness flourishes,
Fulfillment that I was unable to see until now.
It’s unsettling really,
That the way to freedom,
Is different from mine,
A way formed by God.
And it is up to me to choose it.
